My Bad -

Drop a football?, "My bad." Give up a home run?, "My bad."  Burn the chicken? "My bad." Your bad what?  Your bad breath? Your bad decision?  How about just saying, "I'm sorry."  You're bad alright!

These Boots Are Made....

Do boots float? Do fairies wear boots?  As far as I know if you wear boots and you walk outdoors then your boots are on the ground.  In the last week I have heard, "Boots on the ground" too many times to count.  If you want to make a reference to deploying troops then just say so...no need to refer to these troops as boots on the ground.  It does not sound cool or make you sound like a West Point grad.  If you say it it makes you sound like a para militaristic, camo wearing  hick.

Hook 'em

Off the hook -

Who says this and means it?  I know it means something is supposedly really good but why is that?  If a fish is off the hook then he got away. If an old phone is off the hook then  nobody can call.  When someone says, "Off the hook", it just sounds like they are trying way too hard to sound like a contemporary funster.  Nezt stop...party dots!

Hot Mess

I'm wondering what constitutes a hot mess.  Does it supersede a royal mess?  Does it pack more punch than just saying that something is a mess?  Lumpy mashed potatoes or burnt eggs might be classifiable as a hot mess but I think little else does.  

Text Messaging and Online Chat Abbreviations

All I need to say is that any adult that uses OMG, HMU, and so forth need to turn in their adult license and return to middle school.

At The End Of The Day

At The End Of The Day - This phrase is really getting under my skin.  I think in the last week I have heard it on sound bites from the Oscars, Capital Hill, and the sports report.  BORING!  Let's revert to, "when it's all said and done", or "when the dust clears".
